Yesterday Ball state went 1-1 in the semi finals of the Indiana Golf Association Match Play Championship. Today Eric Steger won his finals match at The Trophy Club in Lebanon Indiana.Steger won this fifth match of the tournament, needing extra holes for the first time, defeating Erich Johnston, of Fort Wayne in 21 holes. This is the second IGA tournament the Ball State Junior has won this month.
In ten tournaments he has finished eighth or better eight times. The Match play victory places Sterger 1.25 points behind Erich Johnston in the IGA John K. David Player of the Year standings.
