Vitek Earns GLSCL All-Star Game MVP Honors

For the second time this month a player from the Mid American conference became the all star MVP in a summer wooden bat league. Last week it was Buffalo's Jacob Rosenbeck in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

This week its Ball State third baseman Kolbrin Vitek bringing home the hardware after the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.

The first team All MAC junior hit a second inning solo home run which adds to a very impressive season with for the struggling Lake Erie Monarchs.

Vitek has been to the plate114, hitting an astounding .386 and contributing to his on base percentage of .450. His team leading four home runs and six triples contribute to a .711 slugging percentage which is nearly double any monarch with more than three at bats.

The numbers are no surprise to Ball State fans who watched him put up an average of .389 and a slugging percent of .736 last season for the Cardinals.
