Yesterday Northern Illinois named former George Mason Basketball Director of Operations Kent Dernbach to the same post for the Huskies Mens basketball team. Mens coach Richard Patton, now with a complete staff, lauded Dernbach:"Kent comes to us from a program just a few years removed from making an appearance in the Final Four. Now, with he and coach (Todd) Townsend, we have two guys on staff that can really relate to our players about that process. I'm very pleased with the make-up of my staff heading into next season."
Dernbach will be responsible for the academic progress of athletes, team travel management, supervision of the team managers, assisting in the recruiting process, and maintenance of compliance documents with the NCAA and Mid American Conference.
